Description
This is the template for you to download of our version of the scale of chords. A calculation tool initially developed by the geometers of ancient Greece, the scale of chords was used (up until the early 1900’s) by artisans for determining the numerical degree of an angle formed by two intersecting lines. Using this tool, like the sector, will also help you understand the underlying truths of the geometry that underlies the things we design and build. We suggest you print it out on cardstock or laminate it to make it more durable. If you want to hang up the template, punch out a hole as shown and insert a brass paper rivet.
More information on history and examples of usage are offered in the downloadable pamphlet.
