Jim designed and built this handsome stand-up desk to meet a need in his workshop for a compact drawing surface. This project also is a study in
using simple proportions to create an elegant and functional design. Included in this downloadable file are several proportional drawings that reveal how
all the parts work together in proportional harmony. Even if you decide not to make this exact desk it gives an over the shoulder peak into how traditional
artisans understood and made visual music with proportions. If you do decide to build this, you can adjust the height of the desk to fit your height and
use the proportions in these drawings to make your own custom stand-up desk.
